Panimator is a plugin bundle for krpano and BLENDER.

With Panimator you can add camera-, hotspot-, 3D model-, and light-animations to your krpano 3D projects!

The bundle contains four plugins:

  • dolly.js (for running camera animations in krpano)
  • timlines.js (for running hotspot animations in krpano)
  • lightlines.js (for running 3D-light animations in krpano)
  • Blender Add-on (for outputing the needed animation data)

Panimator is a co-production of TUUR(krpano plugins) and me(BLENDER add-on).

How it works

Load your model into BLENDER, add cameras, hotspots etc. and animate them. Output the required timelines for the krpano plugins with the Panimator Blender Add-on. Run the animations in krpano with the Panimator plugins.

Promo Examples

When developing the package, we also created technical examples. We had a lot of fun with it and tried to push it to the limit...

In V1, for expample, it is possible to run up to 50 hotspot animations simultaneously! In V2 we focused on 3D light hotspots. (This example could be heavy or too heavy on your device. But please give it a go too.)

Blender Add-on

panimator addon

If you are familiar with PanoCamAdder, you will find it easy to use the Panimator Add-on.

At the top, you can add PanoCams (without material) and hotspots, as with PCA.

In the area below you can determine which values you want to output.

At the bottom you can print out the animation path.
You can define a file name, add a comment and specify a keyframe number.

Output Animation Data

  • Depending on which object is selected, the different options become visible.
  • Select the variables you want to print, determine the number of decimal places and assign a keyframe number.
  • Click the 'print' button. The 'krpano-ready' animation path will be output as XML file in the internal Blender text-editor.
  • Open the 'text-editor' and choose the XML file from the text drop-down menu.
  • Go to 'Text/Save As..' to save the file.

IMPORTANT:
Each animation needs an own Keyframe Number! (timekey_ for hotspots, waypoint_ for cameras, lightpoint_ for lights)
